The finished review, moving to the front.
OUR APOLOGIES: These models were purchased in 2009 and finished in December 2009. The vagueries of life kept us from completing the review any sooner. Some of these models are one full year old, so if you are aware that a vendor has re-mastered their models since the ones pictured in this review, please drop us a line and we'll note it here.
From the very beginning of World War II, German soldiers rode Sdkfz 251s into battle. In the waning days of the war there were plenty of them still running around, transporting troops, being mobile gun platforms, and even rocket launching platforms. If there is a single vehicle that could be considered iconic of Nazi military power, the Sdkfz 251 would be it. Propoganda shots showed men jumping out of it, they were deployed on every front, and were inspiration for APC designers for a generation.

It has been a while since I wrote a review for the site, my apologies, as real life – work and family – have taken precedence. Since I now have some free time, I’m re-starting reviews, but only on new miniatures, the items I had stacked up for review when I quit writing will just be fodder for my brush, as some of them have gotten years old, and I would hate to misrepresent a vendor by reviewing something that doesn’t exist anymore, or has been re-mastered.

With that said, the new GOTHIC Line Miniatures came about at the same time that I decided I could pick up some new reviews, so I ordered their entire product line to offer up for your consumption.

When Baueda Miniatures announced that they were working on a 1:48th scale set of miniatures and skirmish rules, I jumped on the chance to try them out. As soon as they announced pre-release, I ordered a "Play Set" of the first four figures from both German and Russian armies.

For Christmas, the WebMistress bought me a box of the Tamiya Infantry with desant (tank rider) figures, and when I looked close at the box, I realized I needed a T-34 for some of them to ride on. So I picked up the Tamiya 1:48th T-34, even though we only rarely game the Eastern Front and almost never in 28mm, I wanted to have a place for the tank riders to sit. |

I know it’s been quiet here for a while, but that is indeed part of the reason that I scaled back the site and expectations… Life and work both got busy.
The entire army But I’ve finished the Offensive Miniatures 28mm US Airborne army that The WebMistress picked up for my birthday, and gave them a little armor support, so here you go, my impressions. |
